1. What kind of dyes are used. Are they toxic. Will they run.
The dyes used by Dr. Goose are Dharma Procion fiber reactive dyes. Fiber
reactive dyes bond and become part of the fiber instead of adhering to and
laying on top of the fibers like the cheap store bought dyes. Also, these dyes
will only bond with natural fibers such as cotton, rayon, bamboo or hemp.
The dyes themselves are not toxic and can be put into drains without harming
the environment. The dye set however, which is common soda ash, should be
neutralized before disposal. The issue is the elevated Ph which makes it very
alkaline. Dilution with plain water is adequate which is what Dr. Goose does.
In theory the dyes, once set and rinsed, will not run. However, Dr. Goose
makes no such rash statements.. Reds are his nemesis and they do seem to
run - even after the set has been neutralized, the fabrics rinsed numerous
times and washed a few times in a special non-toxic soap that is supposed
to suspend any un-attached dye particles, the reds seem to run. The dye
particals are not supposed to be able to adhere to fibers because the Ph
is not high enough in normal water to cause the bond, but as with anything
dyed be cautious until it's been washed numerous times. The general
rule of thumb is to wash these items separately for a time, and then only
with dark colors in cold water. Dr. Goose has been using these dyes for years
in his own clothes and does not have an issue with washing them.

2. Are you a green business??
Dr. Goose tries to do everything with the environment in mind. He will not claim
to be a totally Green business, but he's very environmentally conscious and does
pretty much everything in a Green way.

3. Is Doc Goose a Doctor??
Dr. Goose is not a medical doctor. In August 1975 he was conferred an honorary
Doctorate of Divinity degree and is presently working on a PhD in religion. This
really only means that Dr. Goose has studied philosophies and theologies of many
different persuasions and has gained a strong understanding of human nature
and the motivations involved in the human existence. As any philosophy, it's his own
opinion based on his studies, and it's worth precisely what you paid for it. You
will not see any "Preaching" on this website - that's not Dr. Goose's style!!!

4. What are the stones/rocks?? Where do they come from?? How are they
polished??
Dr. Goose's holistic Prayer Stones and Worry Rocks are river rocks taken from
rivers and streams throughout the world then polished. They are polished using the
standard tumbling method using various grits of abrasion until they are highly polished.
These rocks/stones come from all over the world - South America, China, USA, Canada
Thailand, Australia etc. There is no way of telling where each individual rock/stone
comes from by the time it reaches Dr. Goose's shop. Dr. Goose keeps one in his pocket
and on his nightstand. He keeps Worry Rocks.
The only real difference between the Prayer Stone and the Worry Rock is that the Prayer
Stone has been blessed by clergy.

5. What other kinds of dog clothes is Dr. Goose planning??
Mostly T-Shirts, Muscle Shirts and small hats. There is a lot of ongoing discussion
at Dr. Goose's shop with regards to dog clothing. The Doggy Danny's are one thing
but clothes are more involved and the blanks are far more costly. Dr. Goose does not
want to get into a position where he has to charge what he considers to be
obscene prices for his products. Yes. They are art and warrant an associated cost
base, but there are limits in Dr. Goose's mind. Stay tuned!!!

6. What kind of Juniors clothing is going to be available??
At the time of this answer, that is still an unknown. Dr. Goose is reaching out to
some young friends to act as consultants and identify the types of things young
women and young men would wear. Dr. Goose's kids are well beyond the "junior"
phase, so he's reaching out to friends that have young people "hanging out".....
It may be that Dr. Goose will display the blanks that are available and take orders
based on the blanks. At this point those items would be special orders.

7. Is there an additional charge for "special orders"??
Generally no. There are exceptions to every rule, so those decisions would be
made at the time of order. The cost to you, the customer, is generally based on
the cost of the blanks from the distributor. As in an answer above, Dr. Goose is
not in the mode of charging obscene prices for his products.

8. What kind of shirts does Dr. Goose use??
Dr. Goose generally uses Heavy Duty T-Shirts and Tanks. The maker
of the shirt is noted in the catalog/cart listing.
Most are made from 6.1oz 100% cotton natural fibers -- Hanes Beefy-T's, Gildan Color Fast,
Oneita Color Wear, or PFD's are some of the "brands" of shirts that Dr. Goose uses. There are
some light weight Fruit of the Loom shirts and "Cheezy Tanks" that are a light weight fabric,
but again, they're noted in the cart listing.
We also don't limit our products to 100% cotton only. We use only 100% natural fibers, but have
used Hemp, Bamboo, Rayon and Silk in the past.
Dr. Goose is looking for affordable blanks that are 100% made in USA, but there are not
many garments made in the US anymore. Labor costs make it prohibitive - sad, but that's the
way it is.
What we do look at is, through our distributor, whether or not our garments are manufactured
in international sweat shops. Our main distributor has been providing natural fiber, non sweat
shop products since 1969, and being a holistic group themselves, I trust their investigations
into their suppliers. They have actually discontinued some lines due to the lack of documented
sourcing information.
So you will notice on the labels that most of our shirts are actually sewn internationally, but
some manufacturers use fabrics that are made in the US and those are also noted on the labels.

9. Why is Dr. Goose using email identities at Yahoo instead of docgoose.com??
The Yahoo email ID's were done at the advice of one of my "Web Geek" advisors to avoid spam in the
orders folder. Dr. Goose did not want to do it because he feels it's not "professional", but
discretion being the better part of valor, he relented and decided to assign the Yahoo ID's. The
ID's are being monitored for spam and if it ends up being a non-issue, then the Dr. will assign
email ID's at docgoose.com.
Unfortunately, in this day and age, the web can be a very ugly place. Hackers, Crackers, and
even worse, spammers abound, so in a web presence you have to try to keep spam to a minimum in
the business mail accounts. So in order to prevent the fake email messages inundating the
docgoose web site, for now, I've chosen to use some "throw away" email ID's.
Yahoo's spam filters are excellent and will catch a majority of the "crap mail" that is sent so that
Dr. Goose can fill orders without spending time perusing through mail that is useless. If a time comes
where there is uncontrolled spam in the emails, they'll just be in activated and new ones assigned.
Basically what happens is that a hacker/spammer will use a web-spider to walk through the web site.
They use a simple program to "walk" through a web site searching for email ID's that they can sell
to spammers or use themselves to send "mass marketing" type of email. It's the scourge of email,
and like me, most email recipients would like to see some way of putting these sleaze-bags out
of business.....The problem really arises because any 5 year old script kiddie can write a web
spider to find and log email ID's. Legitimate spiders are far more complex programs.
It's essentially the same kind of technology that Search Engines use to find websites and determine
content so they can be ranked for legitimate searches. It's really become a science so Dr. Goose
won't try to explain the details here -- suffice it to say that it's an extremely complex process.
