Dr. Goose's Holistic Sleep Shirts Information

The main line of shirts being tie dyed today are the "Dr. Goose's Holistic Sleep Shirts". Many years ago Dr. Goose read a medical study done by Stanford Sleep Research Center regarding color. The study was done for the California Department of Prisons and the bottom line was that bright active colors is not conducive to relaxation or mellow activity.
Blues, Greens, Pastels were found to be a warmer, more peaceful decor which is why prisons in California have mellow colors on all the walls, floors etc.
The study mentioned that restful sleep was enhanced by these same mellow colors and that bright reds, yellows, oranges etc., could actually cause restlessness during sleep cycles.
This led to Dr. Goose designing the "Dr. Goose's Holistic Sleep Shirt" in mellow pastel shades that are tied to create a spiral centered over the heart to channel positive universal energy into the heart for a more restful sleep.
Bright colored sleep shirts have been tested and have been found to have no adverse affects on the sleep cycle in that most of us sleep in dark rooms and once your eyes are closed how do you know what colors you are wearing.....
So why the conclusions of the study??
If you think about it, in a prison, the lights are never turned off so there is never any total darkness. Bright colors will be noticeable as well as the Melatonin production will be far less, so there are logical reasons for the conclusions of the study.
BUT. Dr. Goose still does his sleep shirts in pastels and mellow colors. There are also many sleep shirts available that are bright so the choice is yours.
All Dr. Goose's shirts are 100% natural fibers, generally cotton, that we try to have sewn with cotton threads though some manufacturers don't use cotton thread. We try to use a 6.1 oz. shirt for a higher quality, heavier duty shirt. The manufacturer will be noted in the catalog/cart listing.
You'll also notice that most sleep shirts are very large sizes. Very few sleep shirts are done that are less than an XL size. Dr. Goose likes very loose sleep clothes, so that's the way he makes them. If you want or need something smaller, please let us know and we can do a custom run of smaller sized garments however there will be a 6-8 week lead time for delivery. If that's cool with your schedule - we'll do it!!!

Doggy Dannys are 100% cotton, cut and hemmed to various sizes - They're supposed to be cut and sewn to size 22x22x29 but after tying, dying, washing and drying some are not exactly that size -- close but no cigar. You'll note from the pictures in the catalog/shopping cart that they will fit large dogs.

Note the red, white and blue theme on some Doggy Danny's - Dr. Goose calls them the "Patriotic Doggy Danny". A set is being sent to the White House for Bo - we hope to see Bo in his Patriotic Doggy Danny soon!!!!

There will be other doggy clothing offered in the near future, but it will be on a "special order" basis. Dr. Goose has to get his production in line before he can offer a lot of those kinds of products!!!

Dr. Goose's Holistic Prayer Stone or Worry Rock Information

The Dr. Goose's Prayer Stone or Worry Rock are a small, polished piece of the earth with all their powers of energy flow uninhibited.
These stones and rocks are collected by hand from rivers througout the world and sent on for the polishing process.

Once collected, they're polished to a brilliant shine. The Prayer Stones are blessed by a minister and unlike the Rosary, the stone is small and can be carried in the pocket to enhance the energy powers of the universe to the carrier. Rub it in your fingers to center your energies in prayer. It is used as an aid to concentration.

The Worry Rock is very similar but has not been blessed by the minister - it is a piece of the mellow earth to center one's mind in meditation. It can channel ones energies to their center and provide a point of focus during meditation.

The Worry Rock or Prayer Stone can make an excellent gift for that someone who seems to have everything. It can also be a novel way to provide someone with the same kind of energy that drives the universe.

Dr. Goose is also working on a larger stone, that will not be polished, which you can place on your coffee table, night stand, or any place you want to provide a channel for the energy of the universe.
He's also looking at the weight and shipping costs of such a product. The cost of shipping may make it prohibitive and Dr. Goose does not use his shipping department as a "profit center". If it makes sense, he'll do it.
He is also looking at the type of energy surrounding these rocks to see if there are any similarities to the energies produced by the quartz crystal though the quartz crystal has electrical properties that can't be duplicated by the stone/rock.
Thus far the energy seems to be just as intense, but of a different type and origin.

From time to time Dr. Goose will have specials that will be offered. They will be time sensitive and only available until stock is exhausted.

We may develop a "Newsletter" to notify those that request email information, but that is in the future. We are just trying to make things work in such a way as to have as little carbon footprint as we possibly can.

Special Orders

As soon as possible, Dr. Goose's Holistic Tie Dye etc. will do special orders on request.

Special orders will consist of doggy clothing, baby clothing, Juniors and Infant clothing, Hawaiian Shirts, and other like items that are not in high demand, but can be tied and dyed if someone is interested.

Dr. Goose is also working on doing small silk screen work for logo's and the like, but does not have that system set up as of yet. We'll be offering some of our tie dyed shirts with the Dr. Goose logo screened on when the system is set up, so you'll know when it's available.
Testing is presently being done to do the screen work using the same dyes we use for our tie dye. The advantage to that method will be that the image will be on the shirt, but there will be no raised "ink" feel to it so it won't feel like it's been "painted on".

Standard lead time for small special orders will be 4-6 weeks. Lead times for larger special orders will be communicated individually.

There will be a list of items and sizes generally available as soon as Dr. Goose can get to doing it. At this point Dr. Goose is very tied up doing the Sleep Shirts and the other standard offerings so once logistics allow, the list will be forthcoming.
